About The Authors

Speech pathologist William M. Pitts, M.A., CCC., SLP, (The male voice of C.H.A.T.) designed the software over a ten-year period in association with the Easter Seal Society of Greater Cleveland. The programs represent a 34+ year collection of therapeutic strategies in working with people with aphasia. Their desire to continue therapy following termination from formal therapy programs led to the development of this valuable learning aid.

Mr. Pitts, a graduate of Case Western University in Cleveland, Ohio, has made many presentations on the subject of aphasia therapy at ASHA, state conventions, universities, and civic organizations. He has received numerous awards from Highland View Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, where he was the former director of the Speech Department; from the Ohio Speech and Hearing Association; from the Aphasiology Association of Ohio, and from civic organizations. He has also received the Kleffmer's Outstanding Achievement Award from the American Speech and Hearing Association.

Mr. Pitts founded the Cleveland Stroke Club and the Stroke Caregivers' group in Cleveland, Ohio. He, Dr. Bill Weidner and Bill Porto also founded the Aphasiology Association of Ohio.

Presently Mr. Pitts resides in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, where he works full time on programming upgrades for his C.H.A.T. Programs.
